Wilson Jr. High – El Centro CA

“This is an experience our students will never forget.”

- Dr. Robert Pletka, Superintendent, El Centro Elementary School District

There is extraordinary educational value in students taking part in real-life design challenges that result in products that positively impact the campus and community. Every professional designer follows a procedure in coming up with creative solutions and making presentations and proposals. Wilson students are learning the full creative cycle, from concept development to presentation, costing and fulfillment. By utilizing outside sources for processes such as water-jet cutting, laser engraving and printing. Components are digitally designed within the center and e-mailed to the respective supplier. Processes are videoed and explained in a way that students can easily understand. The new Rainforest Art Center is equipped with the necessary computers and software, and the students are being taught by professionals how to use these valuable learning tools.
