Projects: City of Imperial
The Rainforest Art Project of Imperial
The mission of the Rainforest Art Project is to provide learning and healing art experiences that promote individuality, creativity and self-worth.

In partnership with the City of Imperial and Imperial Unified Schools, the Rainforest Art Project is engaging children and their families in art installations and activities that build a deep sense of pride and ownership in the community.
A “first of its kind” program, families are creating beautiful tiles, ornaments and mosaics that are finding permanent homes on public walls, planters and bus stop shelters in Imperial. To check out photos, please click Saturday Workshop Photos.
Keep looking at this site for some real surprises…remarkable ceramic tiles and ornaments that have been designed by children and families from the City of Imperial.
This isn’t your average art project. Working with professional artists and designers, original ideas are professionally painted onto high quality hand-made ceramic tiles.
Perfect for architectural accents and gifts, with stunning designs and vibrant colors, this is the face of the new “Spirit of Imperial”.
Ben Hulse Elementary students from 2nd to 5th grade participated in the pilot program at Imperial. They created handmade ceramic fish from beginning to end. These beautiful tiles were then incorporated into a huge mosaic at the local splash park. Please visit the Splash Park Gallery for photos.
