Students at McKinley Elementary school created a spectacular work of sculptural art in 2010, which has become the central feature for the quad area. They were involved in every aspect of the design and creation of the “Enchanted Desert” project with the assistance of professional artists from the Rainforest Art Project.
“At over 130 square feet, this is an ambitious project by any standards, and the kids did an amazing job. This is something that they will take pride in for a lifetime”
- Doug Evers, Teacher and Regional Director, The Rainforest Art Project
The Rainforest Art Project is unique in that it brings professional artists and designers into the classroom to work as partners with the students in creating extraordinary works of art.
“Art is important for every student, but for some children it is absolutely essential. We are extremely proud of what our Rainforest Students have accomplished.”
- Karla Sigmond, Principal
